Najeh Ourir
Medenine Governorate
is an employee, a partisan and civil society activist, was a candidate for the 2019 legislative elections, on
the list of the “Democratic Current” party in Medenine district.
“Thanks to the trainings of the LEAGUE OF TUNISIAN WOMEN VOTERS, I was able to impose the timing
and the location of my party and my electoral list meeting ...”
“The League Of Tunisian Women Voters had a very important qualitative addition to political partisanship
and civil society activism and to my personality as well. This, I couldn’t gain before, in spite of my
experience in political and civil society,”
Najeh confirms: “I have now the ability and eloquence to communicate with parties, political leaders and
with voters, thanks to the intensity and diversity of the training sessions I had with the League in political
communication, speech writing, speech delivery, managing electoral campaigns, strategic planning, and
getting acquainted with the electoral law.”
Najeh adds, “Women in the south have very weak chances compared to the rest of the country, and their
participation is very modest, whether in associative, partisanship or political work.”
“Thanks to the knowledge provided by the training sessions, I made my party take into consideration my
privacy, especially my geographical affiliation, in terms of the location and timing of party meetings ... I
was able to determine the appropriate time and place to be truly effective and not merely dependent on
what man decides instead of me“
The League encouraged me and provided me with mechanisms that enabled me to prove myself in
society and in various fields without feeling inferior. I want in my turn generalize and spread out my
experience on the women of my entourage to help them over- come all obstacles and difficulties that
would prevent their participation in public and political life.”
