Sonia Fredj

Kelibia Governorate

is a teacher and a trade unionist, nominated by the Tunisian General Union, as an independent candidate
for the 2018 municipal elections in the Kelibia district. 

Sonia acknowledges that when she run for the 2018 municipal elections, she lacked a lot of concepts,
knowledge of electoral laws, and comprehension how to manage the electoral campaign. This prompted
her to engage with the League Of Tunisian Women Voters that she knew offers support to women ‘s
capabilities as candidates in various regions of the country. “The League has enabled me to do everything
I needed thanks to the diversity and intensity of the training sessions and to experts who trained us in the
field of political communication

The League accompanied us in the field to overcome the difficulties and challenges we faced, that helped
us succeed and reach the Municipal Council in Kelibia.
